Ginger Biscuits
Break the cigarette and coffee routine with these yummy low
fat treats
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons poly/monounsaturated margarine
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ cup wholemeal plain flour, sifted
- ½ cup white plain flour, sifted
- 1-teaspoon ground ginger
- 1-tablespoon glace ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 tablespoon molasses (or golden syrup), warmed
Method
- Beat margarine and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg then stir in remaining ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Roll teaspoons of mixture into balls and place on a lightly
greased baking tray.
- Flatten slightly with a fork and bake at 160°C for 10-12
minutes or until golden.
Makes 28 biscuits.
1.5g fat per biscuit.
