Ginger Biscuits

Break the cigarette and coffee routine with these yummy low fat treats


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons poly/monounsaturated margarine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup wholemeal plain flour, sifted
  • ½ cup white plain flour, sifted
  • 1-teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1-tablespoon glace ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon molasses (or golden syrup), warmed

Method

  1. Beat margarine and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in egg then stir in remaining ingredients.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  4. Roll teaspoons of mixture into balls and place on a lightly greased baking tray.
  5. Flatten slightly with a fork and bake at 160°C for 10-12 minutes or until golden.

Makes 28 biscuits.
1.5g fat per biscuit.
